And flowers have their own day. One of the most colorful and bright Christian holidays is coming, namely Palm Sunday. This ‘moving’ holiday, apart from being one of the most important religious holidays in Bulgaria, actually gives us an occasion to celebrate all the people bearing names of flowers.
Mentioning flowers, every person immediately begins to make associations with different and colorful colors. Then it is important to tell you that every year has its own color and this year it vibrates with vitality and strength.
The custom
Palm Sunday is the day of flowers, youth and the rebirth of life in nature. It is celebrated on the Sunday before the Resurrection of Christ. On this day, the Orthodox Church commemorates a solemn welcome of Jesus to Jerusalem with olive and laurel branches. A tradition on this day is to go to a festive service in a church with flowers and willow branches. The saints consecrate the willow branches and they return to the home for health.

The festival of flowers
According to native statistics, one fifth of Bulgarians celebrate Palm Sunday. Women named after flowers, although with slight changes, are about ten percent of Bulgarian women, the same applies to men. A great occasion to delight someone with the name of a flower, why not keep up with fashion and give a bouquet in the color Viva Magenta. We have several suggestions for you:
Altamira – Altamira roses are a great way to express your feelings of appreciation.
Full Monty – This gorgeous garden rose is sure to please anyone named after a flower, even if their name isn’t Rose.
Amposta – Perhaps you want something more exotic, then alstroemerias are a great choice. They give the bouquet a great floral accent.
Lucia – Even if it’s not named after a flower, this delicate alstroemeria would definitely please someone celebrating a flower plant name day.
A colorful holiday, there is always a way to make it even more colorful. Give due attention to all namesakes and remember that flowers are power. After all, they are one fifth of the entire Bulgarian population.
